How can we help?

We are a community group supporting parent carers of individuals with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The group is run by neurodivergent volunteers with lived experience as parent carers and an understanding of the challenges faced by those who have additional needs.

SBSC offers:-

  • 4 x drop-ins per month across the city
  • Advice and support
  • A closed Facebook group
  • Help completing DLA & PIP forms
  • Support at meetings
  • Help navigating SEND and education
  • Contact with peers who understand
  • Signposting to other organisations
  • Summer activities for families

We have several drop-ins throughout the month which are free to attend and there is no need to book:

  • 2x drop-ins per month at the Portsmouth Carers Centre, Orchard Road, Southsea: The first Friday of the month 10 am-12 pm, and the second Tuesday 12 pm-2 pm
